The Cactus Jack Band was formed in the late 70’s at a popular country night-spot called Ollie’s Roundup. In the 70’s, there were three or four HOT country spots and Ollie’s Roundup was one of them. The band moved up to northern Denver and secured a “house-band” job at the Castaways Lounge. This was a six-night a week job that afforded the band the scenario and time to hone their sound. They were diverse enough to secure the job for five years running.
Jeff “Bodene” Fuhr is the original founding member of the Cactus Jack band. He provides the lead vocals, harmony, and guitar work for the band. Over the last twenty-five years he has employed fifteen to twenty musicians, assuring that his personal brand of music was conveyed by each.
